INTERRUPTURE: Minnesota Undergraduate Graphic
Design Exhibition
March 4 - 31, 2022
Closed for Spring Break, March 14 - 18
GAllery Hours: M - F, 10 am - 4 pm
Even a global pandemic couldn’t stand in the way of creative, dynamic, provocative and beautiful designs. Hamline University's Soeffker Gallery presents Interrupture, an exhibition of outstanding graphic design work from 2020–21, created by undergraduate students across the state of Minnesota. Interrupture consists of two coordinated components: a juried exhibition in the Soeffker Gallery, and an open-call display in the lobby of Hamline’s Drew Fine Arts Center (DFA). These exhibitions are presented in coordination with Hamline University's Digital Media Arts and Studio Arts departments.
The juried exhibition features design work by 32 undergraduate students representing 8 colleges and universities. A total of 118 projects were submitted in response to our statewide call; 38 projects were selected by a jury of four Minnesota design educators: Maryam Khaleghiyazdi, University of Minnesota, Duluth; Valeria Lopez, Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis; ChunLok Mah, Winona State University, Winona; and Samantha Sather, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, Minneapolis. The DFA lobby display features an additional 47 projects by 30 undergraduate students representing 8 Minnesota colleges and universities.
Soeffker Gallery is free and open to the public.
Masks are required in the gallery and in all Hamline University buildings.
